Birth Control

Birth Control

When we first used birth control we used the pull out method, next it was male condoms and birth control pills and lastly tubal ligation. Male condoms are safe for mother and fetus if she conceives. 2% pregnancies per year happen with male condoms. Male condoms also help prevent STD's. Personally, we used this method for over 10 years. 18% pregnancies happen with female condoms. Female condoms are not safe for the woman. They are safe for the fetus.

In the pull out method, both fetus and mother are safe if it is ineffective. Ineffectiveness is quite likely. Birth Control pills are considerably effective but they are also not safe for continued use in the event that the woman gets pregnant before they are effective. They are somewhat safe for most women as long as she does not smoke. But there are risks of heart attack and blood clots with the use of birth control pills. There are other risks after using them for more than one year.

Tubal ligation is very effective and somewhat safe for the mother. It is safe if the mother conceives a child after she has a tubal ligation. But there are other consequences to this method. Sometimes reversals are hard. And it is more of a permanent choice of birth control that the mother could regret later. The pull out method is the best. If a pregnancy occurs… it is a gift of God.

This is the one that least offends me. Male sterilization breaks my heart. But abortion or the “new” birth control pill called “The Morning After” I feel it is as bad as abortion which I hate because of God’s stand against the shedding of innocent blood from Proverbs 6:16-19 “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to HIM: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”
